BJP welcomes date for commencement of Amarnath Yatra

JAMMU, Feb 16: Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) has welcomed the date of commencement of Amarnath Yatra.
A meeting was held in the office of Tourism Federation of Jammu (TFJ), which was presided over by the General Secretary Tourism Federation of Jammu, Raman Suri, and attended by members of TFJ and prominent personalities of Jammu including Amrik Singh, Rajesh Dewan, Sanjay Sareen, Bhushan Grover, Rajesh Gupta, Rajesh Raina, Ashish Gupta. During the meeting, Raman Suri briefed the members regarding the fresh announcement of dates by Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) for this year's Amarnath Yatra.
The annual pilgrimage to the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnath Ji is going to be the first yatra of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. This year, the yatra will be of 42 days, commencing from 23rd June, 2020, which is also the auspicious day of Jagan Nath Rath Yatra as per Hindu calendar, and concluding on 3rd August, 2020, that is Shravan Purnima (Raksha Bandhan). All attendees welcomed the announcement by SASB and anticipated huge growth in the economy of J&K through tourism sector.
Further, Raman Suri appreciated the decisions of Lieutenant Governor G C Murmu, who is also the chairman of SASB, for ensuring elaborate security and safety arrangements for the pilgrims. Raman Suri added that Shri Amarnath ji Cave Shrine has a huge importance and people from all over the country visit it during the annual yatra. He said that this pilgrimage will boost tourism, built a cordial relation amongst stakeholders, give a fillip to revenue and most importantly enable devotees from around the globe experience best facilities being extended to them by the newly set up UT administration.
