Chatyar Dhanwan, Lowerkote villages' endless wait for road connectivity continue | | | Early Times Report RAJOURI, Feb 16: Although several schemes have been initiated by the union as well as state governments to create better road connectivity but two villages Chatyar Dhanwan and Lowerkote of Rajouri district with more than 7 thousand population are still without road connectivity. According to residents of the area, the process for construction of road which would connect three villages Chatyar, Lowerkote and Dhanwankote was initiated some 15 years ago but the same still confines only in papers. We are being discriminated by both the district administration and the public representatives as despite repeated requests for nearly two decades road connectivity to these villages is still elusive, the locals lamented adding that in adjoining areas number of roads have been constructed under union government's flagship programme Pardhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. "We have submitted a memorandum to concerned Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) Rajouri but all in vain," said a resident of village Chatyar adding that they have left with no other option but to resort to protests.
