DDC inspects ‘Back to Village’ works in Marh block

JAMMU, Feb 17: In its endeavor to bring governance at the doorsteps of the masses, District Development Commissioner, Sushma Chauhan conducted an extensive tour of block Marh to inspect the development works being executed under Back 2 Village programme.
Block Development Council Chairman Marh, Surinder Kumar, SDM Marh Tariq Hussain, ACD Jammu Amit Vermani, CPO Yoginder Katoch, DPO Sunaina Saini, Tehsildar, Block Development Officer Marh, Assistant Executive Engineers of the Public Works Department, Sarpanchs, Panchs and other district officers accompanied the DC during the day long tour.
DC Jammu, during her visit, also held a meeting with the officers of the Rural Development Department and reviewed progress on different flagship schemes like MGNREGA, PMAY, SBM, B2V besides taking stock of disposal of the complaints registered, so far. She reviewed 302 complaints, of which, 179 were disposed off on the spot.
While reviewing the development works under B2V, the concerned officers apprised the DC about the status of various works being executed by RDD, PHE, PDD, I&FC etc, and asked for expediting the pace of progress on all works for timely completion. These works pertained to strengthening rural infrastructure and augmenting power and water supply, conservation of water bodies besides Irrigation and flood protection works in rural areas.
DC gave on spot instructions to the officers to ensure quality and timely completion of all works being executed by different departments.
While referring to installation of the complaint boxes, DC informed that such complaint boxes have been installed in all the Panchayat Ghars which are being opened every fortnight by the concerned Sarpanch and Secretary Panchayat.
Meanwhile, she also held a grievances redressal camp at Marh where several deputations from 16 Panchayats of the area put forth their issues and concerns. DC gave on spot directions to the concerned officers for early redressal of the grievances.
She directed the officers to work with zeal and devotion to achieve the set targets under different schemes in time, ensuring delivery of benefits to the rural masses.
Later, DC visited Shama Chak and Flora Nagbani to inspect various development works being executed or under process in these Panchayats of block Marh. She visited Government Girls High School Shama Chak and inspected the construction work on five rooms being constructed.
