| State Finance Commission visits Kulgam, discusses dev scenario | | | Early Times Reporter
Kulgam | July 8
To remove disparity, if any, at regional, district and block levels and ensure equitable and overall development of Kulgam district, the State Finance Commission headed by its chairman Mehmood-ur-Rehman visited Kulgam today and convened a meeting of district administration and public representatives. District Development Commissioner besides senior officers were present.
The Commission was apprised of the development needs in the district and various suggestions and observations were put forth with regard to bringing about improvement in drinking water, power supply, horticulture, agriculture and other sectors and requested to take immediate steps for addressing the genuine concerns.
Earlier, the District Development Commissioner informed the Commission about the emerging development scenario in the district and put forward certain suggestions for fulfilling the vacant posts in health department and utilizing all resources for promotion of agriculture, horticulture and other sectors in the district. He also requested for opening of two Degree Colleges in the district.
The Chairman asked the public representatives to put forward their suggestions and observations in writing for removing disparity if any and over coming unemployment problem in the district besides bringing about improvement in power, water supply, road connectivity and education and health sectors. |
