| KP couple lost legal battle and life too | | Wife dies of burn, husband struggles for life | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | July 8 A Kashmiri migrant couple made an abortive bid on their life by pouring kerosene oil and set themselves afire after losing a case of land at Nagrota, on the outskirts of Jammu city. Informed sources told News Agency of Kashmir that a Kashmiri pandit couple who reportedly lost a legal battle put themselves on fire resulting in death of woman who succumbed to her burns. The condition of her husband was stated to be critical and is battling between life and death in Government Medical College Jammu. The couple poured kerosene oil and set themselves afire after losing a legal battle of piece of land which they were contesting for the last several years, neighbourers told NAK adding the woman succumbed to her burns. The deceased has been identified as Vaishno Devi of Nagrota Migrants camp. The couple was putting up in tents at the Nagrota Migrants camp since their migration from valley. Police have taken cognizance in this connection. |
