| Were clerks waiting for Govt’s fall | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | July 8 Just a day after the government fell down; things have started looking up as if the politics came in way of many problems. The clerks who were on strike for last more than three months have today voluntarily called their agitation off. It may be mentioned here that the government had several rounds of talks with the striking employees but it did not resolve. According to an official spokesman, “in the changed political scenario, Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh, All Departments Clerical Staff (JKLADCS) Association called upon the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Mr. Sudhanshu Pandey to discuss their demands pertaining to pay anomalies which were under the consideration of government”. Keeping in view the difficulties that the general masses were facing due to prolonged strikes, the JKLADCS Association decided to suspend their ongoing strike temporarily. Divisional Commissioner Jammu assured that their demands are being considered by the government for an early and amicable settlement. He called for arriving at a mutually acceptable solution through dialogue. The issue of exemption from secretariat training has already been resolved and orders to this effect shall be issued soon. Meanwhile, JKLADCS association appealed the clerical cadres all over the state to resume their duties immediately to mitigate problems of ordinary people. Among others, Mr. Ram Kumar Sharma, Mr. Ravi Singh Bhau, Mr. Anil Kumar Mehta, S. Sukhbir Singh, Ravi Kumar, S. Gucharan Singh, Mr. Sushil Gupta, Mr. Anoop Sharma, Mr. C. L. Koul, Mr. Hamid Hussain, Mr. Bujesh Mehta, Mr. Madan Lal, Mr. Kuldeep Kotwal and Rajinder Singh were also present in the deliberation. |
