PRM vows to struggle for five more districts
7/8/2006 11:38:16 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORTER
JAMMU | JULY 8
Terming the creation of 8n new districts,13 Tehsils & 3 sub-divisions in J&K as welcome and appreciable but carving our districts form Kashmir is equally unjustifiable and gross injustice to Jammu, PRM observed it as biased and imbalanced exercise to further continue with absolute of Kashmir over Jammu.
In a emergency meeting of PRM, Chaired buy its leader Rajinder Jamwal, creation of new administrative setup was discussed at length and was it unanimously observed that stooge Delhi Darbar, Gulam Nabi Azad Chaief Minister Of J&K is also mo9ving on the same track despite having his background from Jammu which is manifestation of Kashmir centric policies of Delhi Darbar and creation of new administrative set-up in Kashmir Valley has further vindicate our stand and has strengthened our movement for’ RE-ORGANISATION Of J&K with Jammu State ranging between Ravi and Peerpanjal’.
PRM further feels that long drawn struggle of people of Reasi, Kishtwar and Samba ultimately bore fruit and victory of people would ultimately bring peace; prosperity and development in these areas. The struggle in these areas was in reaction to Sheikh Abdullah’s dictatorial policies, which with one stroke of pen created three districts for Kashmir this resulted into constitution of Wazir Commission after strong from Jammu, the struggle which is still continuing.
PRM is not opposed to the creation of new districts in Kashmir but seeks clarification about what remains the basis when Wazir Commission duly constituted by Govt did not recommend any district except Bandipora for Kashmir and further argued that it for new districts were to be created for Kashmir then why Jammu remain neglected despite almost double in area and much more in population.
PRM would oppose any such move which talks or suggests for continued domination of Kashmir over Jammu and delimitation of constituencies as suggested by Azad cannot be acceptable under any circumstances as Jammu deserves more Assembly/ Parllimentary seats than Kashmir and any attempt to further corner Jammu would be resisted tooth and nail.
Demanding more districts for Jammu, PRM criticized the unbalanced and arbitrary decision of Azad and vow to launch struggle for getting five more districts for Jammu.
Other PRM leaders who attended the meeting included Sonu Sharma, Rajinder Singh ‘Munna’ MOnu Sharma, S Jaswant Singh, Naveen Sharma, Vijay Singh Tony, Ramesh Kkumar, Tony Thakyal and others.
