| Over 3.13 lakh pilgrims pay obeisance at Shiv Khori | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | July 10 Over 3,13,513 pilgrims from within and outside the country visited the historic Shiv Khori Shrine cave during first six months of current year registering an increase of over 59,646 pilgrims during the corresponding period of last year. It was disclosed by the Vice Chairman of Shiv Khori Shrine Board (Deputy Commissioner) Reasi, Mr. Sanjeev Verma here at Reasi today. Mr. Verma further apprised that during June, 2008 over 93031 pilgrims visited the shrine which was the highest ever pilgrimage during a month since the establishment of Shiv Khori Shrine Board. He said that presently over 1000 devotees are visiting daily and the influx is expected to increase manifold in near future. It is all due to the best efforts of the Shiv Khori Shrine Board who is providing all required facilities to the visiting pilgrims, he added. The Shiv Khori Shrine cave is now emerging as the second largest pilgrimage destination in the Reasi district after Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji and is gaining popularity day by day. Necessary arrangements like security, drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, toilet blocks and other related facilities have already been made available to the devotees by the Board authorities and a number of other development works are apace for convenience of the pilgrims. |
