| Muslim federation assures support to Sangrash Samiti | | | Early Times Reporter

Abdul Majid, president Muslim federation of Jammu has appreciated the role of BJP national president Rajnath Singh and state president Ashok Khajuria along with majority community of Jammu in maintaining communal harmony in the province.
Majid, while addressing the members of the federation in a meeting said that the action taken by the Government in hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus is not a good step and as such Muslims of Jammu region condemn it.
He lauded the role of Jammuties, who for the first time raised voice against the action of Government, irrespective of cast, creed and religion. He said, united stand of Jammu people is the real cause of the success of Sangarsh Samiti, whose main cause is to make Jammu region as a development part of the country in all fronts.
On the occasion members of the federation appreciated the decision of Sangarsh Samiti to suspend the agitation for a week in view of the hardships being faced by every section of the society due a long spell of curfew. They also applauded the role of majority community of Jammu and of intellectuals who assured that the agitation does not take a communal turn despite provocation by some elements who burnt the temporary shelters of Gujjars, and also beaten the drivers and passengers of a particular community and damaged their vehicles on national highway. The milk product by poor Gujjars for consumption of all the people of Jammu city and adjoining areas war destroyed on the way site besides intimidating and physically harming the milk vendors purely on communal basis. Such elements infect are enemies of Jammu and have tried to weaken the cause of agitation.
The leaders of the Muslim Federation unanimously appealed the people of the Jammu province to work for a united leadership of Jammu province capable of fighting the cause of province irrespective caste, creed, color and language. Such an approach will really restore the prestige of Jammu and shall redress the grievance of Jammu as a whole.
The speakers further urged for a greater need of interacting between different communities and regions of Jammu to remove misunderstandings to make Jammu a strong region. Muslim Federation assured the leadership of Jammu of their full support for the cause of Jammu. |
