| Governor rule is only option for state: Rafiq | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | July 10 The state unit Lok Jan Shakti Party (LJSP) today stressed that under present circumstances, governor’s rule in J-K is the only option left to be implemented and thus need not be delayed. Addressing a press conference, here today, state Lok Jan Shakti Party president Rafiq Malik said that the two major constituent of the coalition government in the state- Congress and PDP have proved unsuccessful and failed to deliver besides pushed the masses, particularly the downtrodden and the poor further backward. He said that the slogans like good governance remained mere slogans and could not be implemented in true spirit. Referring to the Amarnath Shrine Board land controversy, Rafiq Malik said that governor, N N Vohra should re-think on his decision and ask state government to divert the land to the Shrine Board again for the same purpose as was earlier done. Vohra’s decision of returning the land to the government has hurt the sentiments of Hindus not only in the state but in the entire country. Since the issues are related with the faith of a large number of Hindus of the country, governor has not acted wisely in this regard, LJSP state president added. He also hailed the people of Jammu for maintaining communal harmony and defeating the nefarious designs of anti- national elements who were bent upon disturbing the peace and tranquility in the region, during the period agitation in Jammu was in its peak. Malik said that LJSP demands Rs 10 lakh as ex- gratia relief for those who have lost their lives either in blast on protestors or after being victimized by the police during protests and Rs 5 lakh relief for the injured. Saying that the party has decided to contest from all 87 seats instate Assembly during the forthcoming polls, Malik informed that Party’s national chief Ram Vilas Paswan is arriving on August 2 and will visit various parts of both the Kashmir and Jammu regions.
