A Truck bearing registration No. DL1M 1732 on its way from Srinagar to Jammu skidded off the road, which was cut off due to landslide and fell into the river Chenab in the wee hours at Karol Bridge falling under the jurisdiction of Ramban Police Station.
The driver of the truck identified as Prem Pal was rescued by the Army personnel's deployed in the area after a vigorous exercise and admitted him in Accidental Hospital Ramban where his condition is now stated to be stable.
However, the truck, which was drowned away with the heavy tides of the river, was not traced as yet.
Police has registered an FIR under No. 65/2008 in Police Station Ramban. |
