| 'Pak Army violates ceasefire again' | | Army foils infiltration bid in Krishna Ghati | | Early Times Reporter Mendhar | July 10 Army claimed to have foiled an infiltration bid at Ravi post in Krishna Ghati area at tehsil Mendhar of district Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir this afternoon. Sources informed News Agency of Kashmir that a group of militants tried to sneak into Indian Territory from Ravi Post in Krishna Ghati, adding that the troops deployed here observed 'suspected movement' and 'opened fire' on infiltrating militants which forced them (militants) to cross over back to other side of Line of Control (LoC). Sources maintained that the Pakistan army, in violation of ceasefire, opened fire on Indian troops, adding "Pakistan troops had continuously fired upon Indian army personnel for 15 minutes," adding "They were helping the infiltrating militants to sneak into Indian Territory." However, no loss of life was reported in the incident. When contacted, Defence PRO Lt Col S D Goswami informed News Agency of Kashmir, "The troops deployed at Ravi Post foiled an infiltration bid when a group of militants tried to sneak into Indian Territory. Pakistan Army had also fired several rounds into this side to assist the infiltration." He, however, maintained that Indian army did not retaliate the Pakistan firing. "We foiled infiltration bid as all militants who were trying to sneak into this side cross over to other side of Loc," he informed. |
