Love smitten Kashmir boy stabs girl to death

In a spine chilling incident an outrageous young Kashmiri lad, probably ‘love’ smitten stabbed a girl to death after following her for some time.
Describing it as first case of stalking in Kashmir, a Police spokesman said that a boy stabbed to death a girl this morning in city out skirts in Gulbahar colony Hyderpora falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Budgam.
The spokesman informed that 7:30 this morning a boy identified as Mohammad Irfan Bhat son of Mohammad Ashraf Bhat and a resident of Narparistan stabbed one Sakeena daughter of Abdul Qadir Khan of Gulbahar Colony Hyderpora near her house. He attacked the girl with a sharp edged knife, resulting in multiple injures to her. The boy also inflected injuries on his own body by the same knife.
Both were shifted to SMHS hospital for treatment where the victim girl, succumbed her injuries and the boy is under treatment .In this regard a case FIR NO 344/08 under section 307,341,309 stands registered in police station Budgam in this regard .Investigation has begun. Dead body of victim girl has been handed over to her for last rites after completing legal formulates
According to SSP Srinagar Mr. S.A .Mujtaba who has dealt with some stalking incidents in Srinagar, the incidents of stalking which were yet unknown in Kashmir are being reported frequently now. Although police is capable enough to deal with the stalkers, yet the help and early information of the victim or victim's family regarding the stalker can help a lot.
He said that stalking is dangerous obsession of a person mostly men with other sex. The stalkers harass and follow the victims through various media such as phone calls, text and multimedia messages on mobile or following the victim physically from one place to another.
He said the society should come forward in dealing with this dangerous trend which can take more lives in future if not checked early.
