| Gujjars extend whole hearted support to Jammu people | | 'Revocation of land transfer order was unconstitional, void | | Early Times Reporter Jammu| July 11: Jammu and Kashmir Gujjars United Front has extended full support to the people of Jammu over the Amarnath land controversy and maintained that it always stood for nationalist and secular forces for the integration of the country. "The land should be handed back to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB). We appreciate the people of Jammu region for maintaining communal harmony and brotherhood despite recent disturbances following the land transfer controversy," the president of the Front Anwar Choudhary maintained while talking to media persons here on Friday.
He, however, alleged that some "anti-national" forces and vested interests created disturbance and tried to communalise the land transfer issue in the name of religion. "We condemn such forces responsible for damaging and targeting the houses of the Gujjars community on outskirts of Jammu city. The affected families should get adequate compensation, whose property burnt to ashes," he asserted.
Expressing solidarity with the Jammu people, he maintained, "Wherever there be a discrimination with any section of people on religion and regional grounds, the Gujjars shall stand with the people for mitigation of any such deprivation."
He also termed the revocation of land transfer order as "unconstitutional and "void."
