| Militant involved in killing of BRO men surrenders, ammunition recovered
| | | Early Times Reporter Kishtwar | July 12 While a militant allegedly involved in killing of Border Roads Organization (BRO) last month has surrendered before security forces during evening hours of Friday in Kishtwar district of Jammu province, a cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from Manjakot area of Rajouri district today. Defence sources told KMT that one of the militants allegedly involved in the killing of four Border Roads Organization (BRO) men last month, has reportedly surrendered before the Indian Army during late hours of Friday. Identifying the militant as Yaqub, sources said that he laid down his weapons before the security forces during the late hours on Friday. He further said that the surrendered militant was active in the area from last some years and apart from killing of five BRO personnel was wanted for many subversive activities. It is pertinent to mention here that some days ago police claimed to have arrested seven Harkatul Jehad-e-Islami militants allegedly responsible for killing of BRO personnel in a mountainous area of the district. Meanwhile army recovered huge quantity of arms and ammunition from general area of Majakote in Rajouri District during early hours today. Defence sources said that on receiving information 13 Sector Rashtriya Rifles (Romeo Force) recovered a cache in general area Manjakot in Rajouri district, today. The recovered cache comprises of five Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and five electronic detonators. |
