| Bhim demands unconditional release of those arrested during the recent turmoil | | Calls on Governor, submits 13 point memo’ | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | July 12 Expressing gratitude on behalf of the people of the state for imposing Governor’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir, the Panthers Party Chief, Prof Bhim Singh has urged the Governor to release all the persons arrested by the people during the recent turmoil in Jammu on account of land diversion to SASB. In a letter addressed to N N Vohra, Prof Singh felt the urgent need for cancellation of all illegal orders, directions and notifications issued by the ousted minister from June 29 onwards. He demanded that all the orders of transfers of government servants, appointments made through backdoor and nominations of thousands of candidates made by various departments with particular reference to State Health Department in violation of the statues and in contravention of law laid down by the Supreme Court should be rescinded forthwith and appropriate proceedings initiated against those responsible for such illegal appointments and nominations. The JKNPP Chief who air-dashed to Srinagar today submitted 13 point memorandum to the Governor urging for withdrawal of all cases against the protestors during SASB land transfer turmoil as also unconditional release of all those against whom there are no heinous crime. Prof Singh said the people of the three regions of the state have been nursing grievances and alleging unequal and biased treatment at the hands of the successive government and sought a white paper giving region wise allotment of funds, employment made and developmental projects launched in the state during the last six years. He demanded a special package for the development of infrastructure and adequate support for promotion of tourism in Jammu region which has great potential. The PP leader also sought employment package for lakhs of educated unemployed youth, revision of voter lists besides a probe into the allotment of land made by the coalition government from 2002 onwards and the encroachment made on forest land b y the ministers and bureaucrats with particular reference to Sidhra and Bhatindi. He also demanded constitution of Delimitation Commission before going to polls apart from constituting a high powered judicial commission to inquire into the acts of corruption, omission and commissions by the outgoing ministers and sitting bureaucrats. The security cover withdrawn by the ousted government to several party leaders needed to be provided at the earliest to enable the party leaders to carry on their political activities in the militancy affected areas. A party handout claimed that Governor has assured to ensure delivery of justice to the people of the state and maintained that the damaged transformer shall be made available in Jammu at the earliest. |
