| Field regiment celebrates diamond jubilee | | | Early Times Reporter

41 Field Regiment was initially raised in 1940 as 41 Medium Regiment (RIA). The Regiment was later re-raised on 15 July 1948 by Lt Col Kalyan Singh aT Jhansi by amalgamating three princely batteries namely BIKANER, SCINDIA and PATIALA to be aptly named as ‘Rajaon Ki Palton’. Regiment is now decorated with Battle honour title ‘KARGIL’ for its commendable job during ‘OP VIJAY’.
During the course of battle, the Regiment provided intimate, accurate and timely fire support in the Battle of Tololing, Point 5140 from Thasgam, Battle of Point 4700 (Mushkoh), Battle of Point 4875 (now named as Gun Hill), Battle of Zulu, Top and gave a decisive blow in the Battle of Tiger Hill from Drass which ultimately changed the course of OV VIJAY.
Celebrations for Diamond Jubilee of PATH FINDERS (KARGIL) of TIGER DIVISION commenced at Kaluchak, today with demonstration of Hot Air Balloon ride as part of the first series of events planned to commemorate 60 years of glorious and dedicated service to the nation. The function was attended by all ex-servicemen and serving officers of the Regiment from across the country. Homage to martyr’s, Special Sainik Sammelan, Release of first Day Cover and Coffee Table book are other events which could form part of the celebration. |
