| Increase in Haj pilgrims’ quota sought | | | Early Times Reporter Kishtwar | July 13 Sajjad Ahmed Kichlloo, ex-MLA and District President J&K National Conference District Kishtwar in a statement issued here today has urged the Prime Minister and Central Haj Committee to increase the quota of Haj pilgrims for Jammu division, as the present allocation was not in proportion to the population. "The present draw of lots have disappointed a large number of persons especially from far flung areas of Jammu Division", he said adding that the people especially from the far of areas start preparing for the holy pilgrimage before a year by completing the formalities and arranging requite fee and money for performing the Haj pilgrimage and after doing all this preparation and at last not finding their names in the list really disappoints them. I urge both the Prime Minister of India and the designated Central Haj Committee to intervene in the matter and enhance the quota of Haj pilgrims at least for Jammu division, so that the people could not feel disappointed and got an opportunity to perform the holy Haj , the statement said. |
