| LJSP names candidates | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | July 13 State unit of Lok Jan Shakti Party has extended support to the Jammu Bandh call given by various political and other organizations for Wednesday as part of the agitation against govt's taking back of forest land diverted to Amarnath Shrine Board. Addressing a press conference, here today, state Lok Jan Shakti Party president Rafiq Malik said that his party's support to the present agitation will continue till the land is not re-diverted to the shrine board. Rafiq said that governor, N N Vohra should re-think on his decision and ask the state government to divert the land to the shrine board again for the same purpose as was earlier done. Vohra's decision of returning the land to the government has hurt the sentiments of Hindus not only in the state but in the entire country. Since the issue is related with the faith of a large number of Hindus of the country, governor has not acted wisely in this regard, LJSP state president added. Re-affirming that the party has decided to contest all 87 seats in State Assembly during the forthcoming polls, Malik disclosed a list of few candidates whom the party has decided to field in the forthcoming polls. They include: Pawan Sharma from Reasi; Bishan Dass from Marh; Haji Mohd Rasheed from Poonch; Farida Afreen fron Surankote and Shakeel Ahmed from Arnas. Rafiq said that names of the remaining candidates would be decided soon. Among others, also present on the occasion were LJSP state unit Secy Gen Surjeet Singh; secretaries Sanju Bhagat and M R Puri, mahila wing president Sudeh Puri; Kissan Cell president, Tilak Raj and student's wing gen secy Raj Sharma. |
