1,137 pilgrims leave for Amarnath

Jammu | July 13
A batch of 1,137 pilgrims escorted by security personnel today left for the Amarnath cave shrine in South Kashmir from Jammu base camp here on Sunday early morning.
Sources informed News Agency of Kashmir that the pilgrims comprising 277 women, 21 children and 180 Sadhus in a caravan of 25 buses and 9 Light Motor Vehicles, proceeded for Baltal and Pahalgam base camps from here at around 5:00 a.m this morning.
Sources further informed that the pilgrimage was suspended many times due to heavy rush of pilgrims at Baltal and Pahalgam pilgrimage base camps and bad weather conditions.
