| Sinha's nexus with Hindutva ideologues exposed: PDP | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | July 14 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today said the praises showered by the former Governor Lt Gen (Retd) S K Sinha, in his latest interview, at the National Conference for adopting a sober role in the protests against the diversion of land to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) has uncovered the party's nexus with Gen Sinha and his Hindutva ideologues. In a statement senior PDP leader Tariq Hameed Karra has said that Gen Sinha, in an interview to Business Standard, while accusing Mufti Mohammad Sayeed of advocating a communal agenda, has showered praises on Ghulam Nabi Azad and the National Conference. "I am sure in Gen Sinha's terminology safeguarding the political, economic and social interests of the people of Jammu & Kashmir is a communal agenda for which he wouldn't have desisted from even putting the whole PDP leadership behind the bars," he said and added that the Gen Sinha's exasperating tenure as the State's Governor was its biggest misfortunes in recent times. Ridiculing the venomous tirade launched by Gen Sinha against the PDP, Karra said terming PDP's healing touch policy a sinister design to grant subsidies to the families of the killed militants, has brought out in the open his (Gen Sinha's) intrinsic prejudice against the Kashmiris. "By casting aspersions on the rehabilitation policy for the victims of violence that was even approved by the Prime Minister's Working Groups on Kashmir, Gen Sinha is only making clear what he was dangerously up to," he said. Questioning mental stability of Gen Sinha, Karra said he (Gen Sinha) has, in the interview, accused Mufti Mohammad Sayeed of propagating the idea of joint control of the Baglihar Power Project with Pakistan. "I think either Gen Sinha is too dull to comprehend the visionary policies of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed or he is deliberately misrepresenting the facts to provoke his Hindutva constituency," he said and added that after putting Jammu & Kashmir on fire, Gen Sinha is now hell bent to keep it the flames smoldering through his reckless and irresponsible utterances. Reiterating his demand for a CBI probe into the alleged massive financial embezzlements that have taken place in the two Shrine Boards during Gen Sinha's tenure, Karra said it is now clear that using all the overt and covert means, Gen Sinha was desperately trying to stay put in the State's Raj Bhawan as the Shrine Boards headed by him had become goldmines for a handful of authorities there under the patronage of Gen Sinha. |
