| Bar to resume work on July 17 | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | July 14 Today in a meeting of General House of Bar Association Jammu, it was decided that the members of the association will resume work on July 17. Bar Association Jammu, however, criticized the role of Jammu based political leaders as they failed to come forward to respect the sentiments expressed by the people of Jammu for their petty political considerations and became party to the order of revocation of land earlier allotted to SASB, which pushed the people of Jammu to the present agitation. In the meeting Adv LK Sharma Convener of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra Sangarsh Samiti was also present and addressed the members of Bar. In the General House meeting held under the Chairmanship of its President Adv BS Salathia, it was decided to extend full support to the Sangarsh Samiti which is leading agitation regarding the controversy over the land. The association also re-affirmed the support of Bar Association Jammu to the Sangarsh Samiti to strengthen the ongoing agitation. In the meeting BAJ reposed confidence in the leadership of Sr. member of the Bar Adv LK Sharma Convener of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra Sangarsh Samiti and appealed to broaden its base and get confidence of people of Jammu belonging to different political, social and religious organizations. BAJ asked the administration that the cases registered against innocent people of Jammu province including lawyers from Kathua and Samba Districts, during the ongoing agitation should be withdrawn forthwith and reiterated its decision for free legal assistance provided to the victims of the on going agitation, a committee of Advocates headed by General Secretary BAJ has already been constituted. Today the General House appreciated the role of Young Lawyers for providing free legal aid to the victims of the on going agitation even during unwarranted curfew imposed by the administration. General Secretary BAJ Mr. Pawan Maini claimed that on 15th day, today the members of the Bar suspend their work and the work in the in High Court Jammu Wing and subordinate Courts remained affected.
