| PDP is mouth piece of Pak, stabbed Cong in back: Mangat | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | July 18 In its bid to regain lost ground senior congress leaders today berated the role the PDP had played by stabbing the congress in the back. At a largely attended workers day long convention in Jammu on Friday former health Minister Mangat Ram Sharma was the most vocal in criticising the PDP leadership by dubbing it as the "mouthpiece of Pakistan". He wanted to know why and for what purpose the PDP chief Ms Mehbooba Mufti continues to be a frequent visitor to Pakistan. The senior Congress leader said that soon after Ghulam Nabi Azad was installed as the chief Minister the PDP leaders and Ministers not only created hurdles in the smooth running of the government but also indulged in"loot". He said the PDP leaders aim only remained at minting money.He urged PCC Chief Prof Saif ud-din Soz to convey sentiments of the state congress leaders to the party high command and cautioned against entering in to any future alliance with the PDP. He and other party leaders including MP Lal Singh, Dharam Pal had a dig at the PDP and NC leadership for having politicised the Amarnath yatra issue which resulted in the exploitation of people in the state.Lal Singh also gave vent to his anger and targeted Jammu based safron organisations for playing communal politics over Amarnath land transfer issue. In his presidential address PCC Chief Saif ud Din Soz exhorted Congress workers to stand up and fight political enemies if they wish to bounce back. Soz devoted quality time in explaining to the party workers the intention of the congress chief minister behind taking charge of the Amarnath yatra arrangements. Soz in his address said that former state Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad decided to revoke the land transfer order only after receiving a written request from the chairman of the shrine board which claimed that the board do not require the forest land. He said it is time for the congress workers to mix with the people and remove misconceptions. He said the congress government made serious efforts to provide equitable share to all three regions.He defended Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and said Nuclear deal is in the interest of the nation and expressed hope that union government will win the vote of confidence. |
