| Wage Board for Working Journalists arriving Jammu on July 25 | | | Early Times Reporter
Jammu | July 18
A delegation of Wage Board for Working Journalists and other newspaper employees is arriving Jammu on 25th July, 2008 to deliberate on various issues with the Management of Newspaper Establishments and representatives of Working and Non-Working Journalists. Member Secretary of the Board, Mr. K.M Sahni will lead the delegation.
The delegation will also hold an interaction session with the stake holders of newspapers industry in the state.
The issues to be taken up in the interactive meeting included status of implementation of the recommendation of 5th (Manisana) Wage Boards announced by the Ministry of Labour and Employment in December, 2000, response to the notice of the current Wage Boards published in the newspapers on 24th November, 2007, demand for interim relief with economic justification and ability of your employer to pay the demand, suggestions regarding amendments, if any to the working journalists and other newspaper employees (Conditions of Service) and Miscellaneous Provisions Act. 1955, financial health of newspaper establishments-past, present and future, chances of growth/improvement in the health status in the next 5 to 10 years and present job classification in newspapers in respect of both journalists and non-journalists and their respective duties and their corresponding salary structure besides the extent of contract appointments in establishments. |
