| Khajuria accuses Geelani of unleashing vilification campaign | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | July 18 Accusing separatist leader Sayeed Ali Shah Geelani and a section of the Kashmir-based media of unleashing a no-holds-barred vilification campaign against those protesting against the communally-motivated decision of the Congress-led minority government on the land transfer issue and dubbing them as “Hindu Fidayans”, BJP State President Ashok Khajuria today warned that their orchestrated campaign would only further widen the gulf between the people of Jammu province and Kashmir. Khajuria said that their statement that the ‘Hindu fidayans (Validhaani Jathas) were involved in the killings of around three lakh Muslims at Police Lines in Jammu in 1947 is mischievous and aimed at arousing popular passions in Kashmir against the Hindus and creating ill will between the two communities. He further took the Kashmiri separatists and a section of the press to the task by describing the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board as a “controversial” institution. He said this institution is the by product of an Act of Legislation adopted unanimously by legislators belonging to both the Kashmir and Jammu. He said by making such ridiculous and provocative statements, the likes of Geelanis’ are not only adding fuel to the fire but also further outraging the Hindu sentiments. The BJP Chief said the people of Jammu province have already seen through the dirty and communal game plan of the likes of Geelanis and that today they are more than determined not only to defeat them comprehensively but also to obtain political power which would make them masters of their own destiny in their own house. Ashok Khajuria asked the likes of Geelanis not to forget that they have been squarely responsible for forcing the minority of Hindus to quit their age-old homes and hearths and destroying their temples and shrines and the whole nation knows this. He advised the Kashmiri Muslims to rein in the like of Geelanis so that their interests do not suffer in Jammu and in the rest of the country. He asserted that the people of Jammu province would not allow such rabidly communal elements to vitiate the communal amity in Jammu province. |
