Soz kicks off poll blitzkrieg
Congmen asked to fan out in areas

The Pradesh Congress Committee President and Union Minister for Water Resources Prof Saif-ud-Din today appealed the party workers to fan out in their respective areas and work with dedicated zeal to bring the Congress back to power in two-thirds majority.
Deploring the role of Peoples Democratic Party, Soz said that with fall of government people of Jammu and Kashmir have suffered a huge loss. “Many developmental and welfare schemes were in pipeline, but the PDP played a negative role by pulling down the government, said Soz while addressing a Congress convention here today which was attended by many senior party leaders.
The Union Minister felt that it was highly deplorable that PDP withdrew its support from the coalition at a time when elections to the J&K Legislative Assembly were quite at hand and many developmental schemes were in pipeline. He said that PDP's withdrawal to the coalition was responsible to the imposition of Governor Rule in the state. He said that common people of the state were put into inconvenience recently due to shut downs and hartals in various parts of the state.
On Amarnath land issue, Mr. Soz clarified that the land transfer matter was hyped by anti-national elements who were against peace. He said that it was an election stunt and the issue was exploited unnecessarily on communal basis by arousing the sentiments of the people. He said that the fact is that it was not possible for Shri Amarnath Shrine Board to provide adequate facilities to the yatries and as such the government had to Welcoming the decision taken by the Azad led government; he apprised that the Shrine board would perform its religious functions as per the existing Shrine Board Act adding that the government is bound to provide all civic amenities and security to entire yatra.
Soz said that Congress party always stood for unity and integrity of the nation and served the best interests of common people including the weaker sections of the society particularly the farming community. He exuded confidence that Congress would continue to enjoy the support of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and it would certainly make the majority in the forthcoming assembly elections and form the government on its own.
Soz appealed the people to cast their votes in favour of Congress in forthcoming Assembly elections and bring a majority government in the state. He said that Congress is the single largest party of the country which could fulfill the aspirations of people by changing their socio-economic position. He said that Congress does not believe in religious conviction, instead it believes in secularism.
Regarding damage to Gladni transformer, the Union Minister described that torching of power transformer as a planned conspiracy and condemned the elements that put people to great inconvenience in Jammu region. He said that the centre government is taking keen interest to provide a new transformer on loan basis to relieve the people on unbearable difficulty especially in view of scorching heat.
Speaking on the occasion, Ex-MLA and former Health and Medical Education Minister Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma said that Congress is a secular party, it is the duty of every person to cast their valuable vote to Congress in forthcoming elections in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that Congress is the only party whose leaders have sacrificed their lives for the cause of people of the country. He said that some anti-national parties always divided the people on religious basis. He said that they exploited the people on communal lines hurting their religious sentiments across the country. He appealed the general masses not to trust on those anti-national parties who always think about their self interests.
Member Parliament Ch. Lal Singh in his address appealed the people to cast their vote to appropriate candidate in forthcoming elections who could fulfill their aspirations and create congenial atmosphere in the state. He said that PDP-NC could not digest Azad's success in the two and a half year tenure. He requested the people to come forward and apprise the masses about ground reality. He said that Congress has made unprecedented development in every sector during its short tenure which was not achieved by any government during last 60 years. He said that first of all we are human beings as our blood is red and divided only on caste and religion basis.
Highlighting the achievements of Congress government across the Jammu and Kashmir State, Member Parliament Mr. Madan Lal Sharma said that a massive development has been made in every sector including scores of schools were opened and upgraded, 40 new colleges were opened across the state, thousands of neglected areas were connected with nearest headquarters, lakhs of kanals of state land of farmers regular under Roshni Act, enhancement of numberdars and chowkidars wages from Rs. 80 to Rs. 500, increase of SPO salary from Rs. 1500 to Rs.3000 besides enhancement of pension for widows, old age and physically handicapped persons and creation of 8 new districts, 3 sub-divisions and 12 tehsils.
