Residents witnessed the murder, but none came to rescue

Jammu | July 18
What will you do, if you see a murder being committed on the road? If you reply to it honestly, a majority of you will say they will turn their eyes the other way and some may reply they will carry the victim to a nearby hospital (of course, after the killers had gone away).
However, the first answer appeared more appropriate late last night when in Channi Himmat a teenager was being assaulted by a group of four and the hue and cry raised by the victim had forced the residents to look through their windows… but none dared to come out and intervene.
Sahil Khajuria a 12th standard student was the son of doctor Bhupesh Khajuria who is HoD of Forensic in GMC Hospital. His mother, Champa too is a doctor posted in Sarwal hospital. His younger sister and the doctor couple have lost their beloved Sahil and even as the killers are to be blamed for that, the residents of the locality too share the blame for not intervening. This was the expression of the relatives of Khajurias who had come to mourn the demise of the teenager.
Sahil along with his friend Paras Gupta was returning from tuition class when at sector 7 of the colony he was intercepted by four boys on two mobikes. According to the narration given by Paras, after some hot discussion the four overpowered Sahil and one of them stabbed him on back with a kirch which came out from the stomach.
Paras immediately phoned Sahil’s father and informed him about the incident. By the time, Dr Bhupinder arrived at the spot, Sahil was taken to the hospital by the police who had in the meanwhile reached there after having information from an unidentified caller. But much time had passed by then.
The doctors at GMC hospital after examining Sahil had declared him as brought dead. One of the four assaulters, Gagandeep has already landed in police custody. The three absconding, according to the family members, are Koshal Salathia, Surinder Singh alias Bunty and K P Singh all residents of nearby localities.
Paras has reportedly informed the police that there was some enmity between Sahil and the four and already there has been a clash between them about a fortnight back. Meanwhile, sources have informed that the police has started raids to nab the absconding.
