| PDP to celebrate foundation day on grand scale | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | July 19 Despite receiving brickbats during ongoing agitation over Amarnath land transfer issue Jammu unit of the PDP is all set to celebrate its foundation day on July 28 on a grand scale. Coming out of hibernation several senior PDP leaders today gathered here at the party zonal office to chalk out party programmes in connectionwith the foundation day celebrations. A senior PDP leader from Jammu said," today PDP leaders gathered here at the party headquarters to take stock of the political situation in the light of the recent developments.He said PDP leaders were not afraid of coming out of their hosues as they not committed any wrong.If our party leadership decided to withdraw support after giving notice to the congress chief minister then why only blame PDP.Congress should be held responsible equally, the PDP leader said. When asked to comment on the allegations levelled by the congress leaders on Friday the PDP leader said it is up to voters to judge who is anti national. Prominent among those who were present on teh occasion included general secreatry Daman Bhasin,Ved Mahajan,Murtaza Khan,Rangeel Singh, Shanti Devi, youth leader Sohit Sharma and district presidents. During the meet the PDP leaders took stock of the current poitical situation and also discussed foundation day related party programmes.During the meeting several party leaders expressed the desire to celebrate foundation day onJuly 28. For past several weeks barring security personnel and trickle of junior party leaders the party office wore a desreted look and was stoned on numerous occaisons by the angry protesters over Amarnath land transfer row.The public anger forced PDP leaders to stay in doors and venture out of their houses in the dark to avoid public fury.On numerous occaions local news channels invited PDP leaders to particpate in the discussions and defend stand taken by the PDP leadership but they did not turn up.The PDP leadership was also targeted by the former governor SK Sinha in his candid interviews where h labeled PDP as anti national party. |
