| Poonch presents depressing picture: Aijaz Jan | | | Early Times Reporter Mandi | July 19 Aijaz Ahmed Jan, Provincial Secretary J&K Youth National Conference, Jammu Province has expressed serious concern over the delay in providing agriculture inputs to the farmers of Poonch. He said it is unfortunate that the concerned department has failed to provide agriculture inputs especially Khad to the farmers during the season, due to which there is every apprehension of loss to their standing crop. He called upon the district administration and the concerned department to provide all agriculture inputs to the farmers of the area on priority in time, so as to save the standing crops of the farmers. YNC Provincial Secretary, who was addressing a workers meeting at Mandi here today also expressed concern over the shortage of essential commodities especially LPG Gas, Kerosene Oil and ration in the area. "The ration depots are empty, the people are forced to purchase ration on exorbitant rates from the open market even the APL Ration was not made available to the people of the district which speaks volumes about the defunct and non-seriousness of the district administration in managing the affairs of the district", he said. Referring to the shortage of Lecturers in schools of the District, he said the carrier of the students is at stake due to lack of lecturers and teachers in various schools of the district. He appealed the Governor of the state to intervene in the matter and direct the concerned to provide basic essentialities to the people of the area, who are suffering badly due to the callous and indifferent attitude of the district administration. "Being on the tail end of the electric supply lines from Feeder at Glaidni there is absolutely no electric supply left for the entire District Poonch and in this scorching heat the people have to burn wax candles and timber scantlings because no kerosene oil is also available. The shortage of kerosene oil has been deliberately created by the CAPD", he said urging the Governor to intervene and to activate the administration. |
