| KVK organizes scientific meet at Kargil | | | Early Times Reporter Kargil | July 19 Krishi Vigyan Kendra of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Science & Technology of Kashmir (SKAUST) held scientific advisory council meeting here today under the chairmanship of Prof. Anwar Alam vice-chancellor, SKAUST, Kashmir. Dr. Mohd Salim student’s welfare association welcoming the scientific acumen could be of immense help for the benefit of the farming community. Dr. S K Raj subject matter specialist of KVK gave a power point presentation of annual plan 2009-10 activities which are scheduled to be undertaken besides mid term appraisal of progress 2008-09. Vice-chancellor, in his address exhorted upon the scientists in general and KVK has a mandate to disseminate the technologies generated at the university through a rigorous research to take it at the door steps of the farming community through on farm and off farm trails which the KVK’s are propagating through imparting of various kinds of trainings and demonstrations as the scheme of KVK was conceived by the Indian Council of Agriculture Research, Ministry of Agriculture, GOI for the purpose. He said remote area climatically it has its own limitations yet has a big and vast potential which require to be tapped. Dr. Tondup Tsewang, scientists in charge RARSS and KVK presented the vote of thanks. |
