| Congress accuses BJP of trying to mislead public | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | July 20 Pradesh Congress Committee has accused BJP of trying to mislead the public by a mischievous and distorted version of the statement attributing the same to the PCC President Prof, Siaf ud din Soz regarding the period and number of yatries to Shri Amarnath Shrine. Reacting sharply to a motivated and false statement of BJP President, whereby he has mischievously distorted the version of Prof. Soz with regard to recommendations of Dr. Sen Gupta Committee report, PCC Spokesman said that Soz nowhere in his speech has ever suggested to restrict the number of yatris or limit the period of the yatra. Ridiculing the “malicious and highly abusive and offensive statement reflecting the indecency and utter frustration of BJP leadership, PCC Spokesperson has said that people are quite aware of the fact that when the controversy had arisen regarding the duration and number of the yatris, it was Congress leadership which had backed the decision of Shri Amar Nath Shrine Board regarding the period of Yatra, which led to more flow of yatris, which is on rise every year. The congress has only sought the attention of the authorities towards safety, security and Welfare of yatris, primarily aimed at to promote and attract more yatris. Unfortunately, this is nowhere the concern of the BJP which has already caused great inconvenience to the pilgrims by their politically motivated campaign of hartals etc. As regards, the other part of the statement regarding former minister Mangat Ram Sharma, Spokesman advised BJP to verify the facts and the context before making ‘absurd’ allegations. |
