Man arrested with huge quantity of LPG cylinders in Jammu

Jammu, Apr 9: Jammu Kashmir police arrested a man along with huge quantity of LPG cylinders meant for public. As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Bishnah Police Station arrested a man from Ward Number 1, Bishnah for embezzling cooking gas meant for the public and recovered 21 domestic LPG cylinders, 1 commercial LPG cylinder and 19 Handi Gas Cylinders from his possession. The arrested person has been identified as Pritam Sharma, son of Rishi Kumar of Jeevan Nagar, Amul Milk Gali, District Jammu. The accused used to embezzle cooking gas for making huge profits by selling them illegally among the locals. A case under FIR Number 57/2020 under section 3/7 ECA, 1955 r/w LPG (Regulation of Supply and Distribution) order, 2000 has been registered at Police Station Bishnah and investigation started. It is pertinent to mention here that Jammu Police had earlier also arrested many black marketers to give hassle free supply of essential commodities to the common people. The arrest was made by SHO Bishnah Inspector Deepak Pathania under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan, SP Headquarters Jammu Adil Hamid and SSP Jammu Sridhar Patil.
