Central Govt Pensioners donate Rs 3 lakh for Covid

Jammu, April 10: The Central Government Pensioners Welfare Association, J&K (CGPWA) has contributed Rs 3.11 lakhs in to J&K Relief Fund to augment the resources of the UT administration in fighting COVIND-19.
The CGPWA had been contributing in to PM National Relief Fund every time the nation or J&K faced with any human tragedies but the present collection of Rs. 3.11 lakh is the highest ever donation raised by its members to express solidarity with the COVID victims and to strengthen health infrastructure to effectively face the pandemic Coronavirus. As many as 58 Central Govt pensioners have contributed towards the Fund out of their pensions discharging their social & national duty at this extraordinary health emergency. The individual pensioner's contribution ranged from Rs. 2100 to Rs 13000 that comes to be one day pension to four days' pension. The donation collected in just four days has been transferred into Relief Fund yesterday. The donor members include two former Chief Secretaries, two former DGPs, one former Chairman of PSC and three its former members, two former Principal Chief Conservators of Forest, one former Chairman Pollution Control Board with half more than a dozen former Principal Chief Conservators of Forest, one former ADG & over a dozen former IGPs & DIGs, four former Directors of GSI and many other GSI former officers and several former officers of central services. The Association also contributed out of its own account Rs 5100.
