Srinagar | July 20
Jammu and Kashmir government has dismissed the so called opinion poll conducted by an agency saying that majority of people in India are in favour of independent Kashmir.
The poll was misleading and laughable, state information secretary K B Jandial said today. He said the conclusion drawn by an opinion poll that the majority of Indians were not averse to an independent Kashmir was nothing but to mislead the public.
Reacting to the report of the ''World Public Opinion.org'' survey, he said the conclusion was laughable and misleading as how the suggestion of just 1200 people interviewed by the agency reflects the opinion of a 1.2 billion people of the country.
Jandial said the poll conclusion was an attempt to mislead the public and create confusion in their mind.
However, he said the people of the Jammu and Kashmir and the country could not be misled by the polls.
