| Amarnath yatra resumes | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | July 21 Following improvement in weather conditions, the pilgrimage to the cave shrine of Amarnath in south Kashmir Himalayas resumed this morning from the twin routes of Pahalgam and Baltal, official sources said. The yatra, which was suspended yesterday afternoon in the wake of heavy rains, resumed this morning from both the sides, they said. While, 2217 pilgrims left from Nunwan base camp along the traditional 46-km Pahalgam route in Anantnag district, 1905 pilgrims proceeded from 12-km Baltal route in Ganderbal district, they said further. A record number of over 4.95 lakh pilgrims visited the cave from the twin routes since the commencement of the annual yatra on June 17, they said. |
