Heavy rush of pilgrims from various parts of the country is being witnessed at the historic and ancient cave of Shiv Khori, where over 3.26 lakh pilgrims have had darshan till now.
"Since January one to till date over 3.26 lakh pilgrims had paid obeisance at the Shiv Khori shrine," Deputy Commissioner, Reasi, Sanjeev Verma, who is also Vice-Chairman of Shiv Khori Shrine Board (SKSB) said.
The flow of pilgrims is increasing day-by-day and presently 1200 to 1500 pilgrims are visiting daily at the shrine, he said.
During the month of June this year over 93031 pilgrims had darshan at the cave, which was the highest ever number of pilgrims during a month since the establishment of shrine board.
The Shiv Khori shrine is emerging as the second largest pilgrimage destination after the Mata Vaishno Devi.
The SKSB has taken a number of development works, which include construction of sarai near the cave, shelter sheds and bathroom and toilet facilities, adequate provision of drinking water, power supply, development of parks and gardens.
