| NC has no agenda; Abdullah dynasty only after power: Karra | | | Early Times Reproter Srinagar | July 21 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senior leader Tariq Hamid Karra today said that National Conference, without acknowledging their own failures while in power, are busy in shifting blames, which indicates an absolute frustration in their ranks. Addressing a day long session of workers convention in Hardpanzoo (Khansaheb constituency) Karra said that the concern for human rights or the slogan of porous border in Dr Farooq Abdullah's times was unknown and Human rights violation and the STF terror were the order of day. He said that National Conference should open their eyes to that fact that their 50 years long miserable performance has not purged from the public memory. Karra observed that the recent disclosure made by BJP president L K Advani in his biography that National Conference patron Dr Farooq Abdullah preferred a cabinet post for his son at the Center to autonomy for the State clearly demonstrates that come what may Abdullah dynasty is only after power. ‘Advani's memoir has exposed NC thoroughly when he says that NC traded autonomy for power. But we believe that people are the best judges who have already given a clear verdict against this party in 2002 elections," Karra said and added that times have changed and the NC leadership can not befool people with their hollow sloganeering. He remarked that the reasons of NC nurtured corruption; favoritism and nepotism, besides plunging people into deep morass. "Farooq Abdullah was the first chief minister in India who implemented Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA). He strengthened Special Operations Group (SOG) of Police to inflict more atrocities on people and misrepresented Kashmiris on every forum," Karra said. How long would have Kashmiris continue to support a family that was changing colors every now and then he asked Party senior vice president Moulana Iftikhar Hussain Ansari on this occasion said that people should exercise their right to vote freely so that a genuine leadership emerges and their sufferings are mitigated. "The PDP is the only political party in the state which has an all time relevant economic and political agenda," Ansari said and added that under the able leadership of PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Jammu and Kashmir will touch new horizons of peace and prosperity. |
