Crime Branch Jammu has produced challan against Sanjay Gupta son of Balkrishan Gupta of Rehari Colony owner of ‘Sanjay Pens and Stationery Store’ for selling pirated books. Crime Branch received written complaint by Bijaish Gupta alleging therein that they are the publishers of the Hindi Books and one of their books titled Kahani Vividha is prescribed by J&K Board. They said that they came to know that the said book was being pirated and sold in Jammu city by the accused Sanjay Gupta. On receipt of the complaint Crime Branch conducted raid in the shop and recovered a stock of books. Crime Branch then took books from both the shops to FSL Jammu for chemical analysis where it came to know that the books recovered from Sanjay Pens and Stationery were pirated. As such offences under Copy Right Act were established and hence challan was produced in the court of law for judicial determination.
