Repot about horse training and change of loyalties by the MP’s on the eve of confidence motion moved by PM Dr. Manmohan Singh is a serious set back to democracy in India, said state President Samajwadi party, Sheikh Abdul Rehman while speaking at a party meeting here today.
Saying that it is immaterial as to who wins or who losses the confidence motion, Rehman observed that the way loyalties by the MPs are being changed is a matter of grave concern adding that such a trend would create a deep dent on the democratic system oif the country.
He said that the results of the confidence motion are not likely to have any impact on the UPA government as BJP and left having wide rift cannot provide an alternative to the UPA Government. He professed that both Congress and SP by virtue of their ideological similarities would have to form the government even after the impending general elections.
The party in a resolution adopted at the meeting expressed grave concern over the rise in militancy related incidents and demanded that the security measures be further beefed up and said that such incidents should be an ‘eye opener’ to those who raise pro-Pak slogans and talk of opening business with Pakistan. ‘Eruption of violence and engineering of blasts by Pak sponsored militants, especially on the eve of election, he said indicate that the mentors across the border do not like that normalcy should return to the trouble torn state .
The meeting also expressed sympathy with those who lost their lives in these blats and also those who suffered injuries.
Among others the meeting was attended by Ram Prakash Sharma, Ram Singh Chouhan and Sham Lal Mahasha.
