| Where is the transformer for which Harayana Chief Minister had placed order? | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | July 24 Where is the transformer for which the Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, had, in his communication to the former Chief Minister,Ghulam Nabi Azad,placed an order with the BHEL ? Had he placed the order the transformer would have,by now,reached the Gladini grid station. Senior engineers in the Power Development Department today said that the Haryana Chief Minister had okayed purchasing one transformer which was to be given on loan to the Jammu and Kashmir Government for tackling the acute power crisis in the region.They said when a couple of senior officials from the PDD visited Harayana,about 10 days ago,they met some corporation officials who informed them that a formal order from the Haryana Government had to be sent to the BHEL. So far the formal order was being awaited.The Harayna Corporation officials also told those from Jammu that for the issuance of the order several formalities have to be completed.On the other hand the one which was to come from Patna has not been yet despatched.The Unon Minister for water resources,Prpof.Saif-ud-Din Soz had personally taken up the issue of power crisis in Jammu with the Union Power Minister,S.K.Shinde who had assured him that one transformer for the Gladini grid station wll be made available shortly. An engineer in the PDD in Jammu said that the one "we are getting from Patna is so heavy that it has to be carried to a truck with trollies."He explained that it takes at least eight days for carrying the transformer from Delhi to Jammu nd naturally from Patna it may take about three weeks."He said possibly by August 15 "we may be able to install one transformer." He said if the two transformers,that were damaged at Gladini grid station,were repaired within another one one month "we may not require the one which may be booked by the Haryana Government." |
