| JSM criticizes Governor’s callous, insensitive attitude towards Jammuties | | ‘Jammu situation result of Vohra’s pro-Kashmir Muslim mindset’ | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | July 24 Strongly denouncing the callous and insensitive attitude of the Governor towards the demand of the people of Jammu region concerning Shri Amarnath Shrine Board issue and the provocative statement given by Omar Abdullah in the Lok Sabha which has resulted into the death of a youth, Kuldeep Verma, the Jammu State Morcha (P) has also strongly condemned the action of police: forcibly taking away the dead body by the CID personal from the Dharna site at parade ground to the Medical College Jammu and conducting postmortem without the knowledge and consent of the relatives of Kuldeep Verma. The Morcha said that even the police arrested the people sitting at the Dharna site and severely beaten them and even did not spare the wife of the deceased and other women present on the occasion. The Morcha said that police after forcibly taking the dead body of Kuldeep Verma to the cremation ground at Bishnah tried to burn it with tires, K. oil and liquor with allowing the relatives to perform the rituals. The action of the police is heinous crime and makes one to recollect the treatment meted to dead body of Shahid Bhagat Singh during the British rule. The behaviour of the police was that of an autocrat and it violated all the norms, human values that were expected in a democratic country, the Morcha in an emergent meeting held under the chairmanship of Prof Virender Gupta alleged. Paying homage to the martyr, the JSM said that the sacrifice given by Shaheed Kuldeep Verma should not go waste and appealed the government to provide due compensation to the deceased family and make suitable financial arrangements so that the family of the deceased does not find difficulty in earning its livelihood in future. Referring to the statement of Omar Abdullah in the Lok Sabha, the JSM observed that it implied that Kashmir belonged to the Kashmiri Muslims only who are least concerned about other faiths and religions. His boasting in the Lok Sabha that Kashmiri Muslims are religiously tolerant and have deep regards for the other religions is belied by his statement that not even an inch of land would be given to Shri Amaranth Shrine Board. The Morcha reminded Omar that in 1994-1995 Kashmiri Muslims boycotted the pilgrims to Shri Amarnath and even the Government servants refused to co-operate with the Yatries in providing them necessary facilities. Is it not a fact that during the last about 20 years, almost 160 Hindu temples have been damaged or destroyed in the Valley? Can Omar Abdullah deny the fact that Kashmir Pandits and Sikhs were forced to migrate from the Valley simply because of the reason that they were non-Muslims and that the Kashmiriat is now confined to Kashmiri Muslims with extreme anti-India and pro- Pak biased? Should he and his father are not morally bound to leave the land and spacious building that they have constructed in Batindhi, Jammu while illegally occupying the forest land, in the light of Omar’s statement?, the Morcha asked. Strongly criticizing the role of N.N Vohra, Morcha said that his pro- Kashmiri Muslim mindset resulted into the present turmoil in Jammu region. By his action in the matter of land given to Shri Amaranth Shrine Board he tried to please the anti-national and secessionist forces of the Valley while deeply hearting the sentiments of the people of Jammu region and the Hindus throughout the country. His action boosted the moral of the terrorists and anti-national forces who indulged into the sequence of terrorist acts in the last few days. He had shown his little concern to the agitating Jammu region. In fact he is being perceived as very close to Mufti Mohmd Sayeed and it is said that it is Mufti who is running the Government by proxy through the present Governor. Therefore, it is in fitness of the things that he should resign and go back to Delhi as he would not be able to give justice to the people of Jammu region because of his partial attitude. |
