| Mata Vaishno Devi Cancer Institute nearing completion | | | Early Times Reproter Jammu | July 24 Governor, Mr N N Vohra, today visited Kakriyal and took stock of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence, the first phase of which is likely to be completed by end of this year. This was the first visit of Mr Vohra, who is also the Chairman of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB), to the upcoming Institute, considered to be flagship of the Board next after the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University. Mr B B Vyas, Principal Secretary to Governor and Chief Executive Officer of the Board was accompanying the Governor. The facility will be first of its kind in Northern India, aimed at providing specialized health cover to the people especially the poor and needy patients. The Institute is coming up in the lap of the Vaishno Devi Shrine on Trikuta Hills. A unique feature of the architectural design is that each room faces the Bhavan. Mr Vohra went round the Hospital Complex under construction and was briefed by Director of the Institute, Lt General (Retd) L P Sadhotra. The Governor stressed the need for stepping up the pace of work on the Hospital. He also interacted with other functionaries and engineers of the Project. The Governor asked the Hospital Management to evolve detailed proposals about the requirement of manpower for making the Hospital functional in time. Among others present on the occasion were Additional CEO, SMVDSB, Mr M K Diwedi, Deputy Commissioner, Reasi, Mr Sanjeev Verma and DIG Udhampur Range, Mr Alok Puri. |
