Jammu | July 24
The Police which seem to have taken law unto its own hands severely beat up and thrashed several scribes, particularly lensmen, when they were covering the ill plotted scene of shifting martyr Romesh Kumar’s from Parade Ground to Bishnah late last night.
The journalists who met the Governor NN Vohra said that a Police party led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohan Lal Kaith launched attack on them smashed down their expensive equipments.
A 7-member deputation of Photo Journalists of Jammu also met the Governor this morning and brought to his notice the alleged police actions against some of their colleagues last night. Mr Vohra asked Deputy Commissioner, Jammu to immediately look into the complaint of the journalists.
