Journos seek: Suspend DSP Kaith, pay compensation

Condemning the brutal use of force by police on two of the city based media persons; the Journalists Guild (Jammu) has demanded a stern action against the erring police officials and compensation to both the victims.
In a statement issued after emergency meeting of Guild’s executive members, Devender Padha, President, termed the act of police officials as most irresponsible and undemocratic and sought the suspension of DySP M L Kaith who ordered the police action on said media persons.
The guild has further demanded from the State Administration to grant a sum of Rs 25,000 each as compensation to both the injured media men immediately. The State Administration is also been asked to direct the policemen to restrain from such tendencies in future otherwise; journalistic fraternity will launch an agitation.
The executive members who attended the meeting included Rajesh Dutta, Vikas Sharma, Pankaj Sagar, Sunny Sangral, Govind Chouhan, Mohinder Sharma, Ashutosh Sharma, Munish Gupta, Sumit Sharma and Varun Suthra.
