| Lawyers abstain from courts | | BAJ likely to initiate criminal proceedings against guilty police officer | | Early Times Reporter

Today the work in the High Court of Jammu Wing and Subordinate Courts remained affected as the lawyers abstained from appearing.
The BAJ in a meeting held today under the Chairmanship of its President Adv BS Salathia, has strongly condemned the act of desecration and disrespect shown by the State authority to the dead-body of late Kuldeep Dogra who sacrificed his life for the cause of Jammu. It reminded the authorities about the respect shown to the dead-bodies of the enemy soldiers by the Indian Army during the Kargil war and appreciated the role of Indian Army and security forces in giving proper respect to the dead-bodies of the terrorists and the anti-nationals.
BAJ also strongly condemned the in-human and unpardonable act committed by the administration and police officers while deliberately and maliciously outraging the religious feelings and offering indignity to the human corps of Lt Kuldeep Dogra. In the meeting it was said that BAJ is also looking into initiating appropriate criminal proceedings against the guilty officer.
The BAJ has also condemned the assault of innocent journalists and termed as an attack on freedom of press which is constitutional guarantee.
Taking serious note regarding the failure of electricity, the BAJ condemned the action and inability of state administration in restoring electricity supply in Jammu region thereby causing great sufferings to the people of Jammu region. It has asked the authorities to stop special un-interrupted power supply being supplied to the bureaucrats and Kashmir based politicians who advance Kashmir centric agenda which has continuously caused discrimination with the people of Jammu in result where as the Jammu is on fire. In case of laxity on the part of the authority, the people of Jammu may be forced to initiate action in order to make them realize as to how to live without electricity in this hot and humid climate for hours together.
BAJ also condemned the cowardice act of those who made the non-Kashmiri Muslim labours from Bihar the target of their sinister policy of annihilation and reaffirmed its firm resolve that the on going agitation of people of Jammu is a decisive battle for survival of a secular society and against the hegemony of Kashmir centric politics and policies and as such has to be taken to its logical end.
