Addressing a series of public meetings in Banihal area, Azad said that People's Democratic Party had sabotaged the development process in Jammu and Kashmir, adding that the role of the PDP during the past two and a half years in coalition government, was worst than that of opposition. He said despite being a coalition partner in the government, the PDP created hindrances for him at every point of time which resulted in hampering of the infrastructure development and implementation of people oriented welfare schemes in the state. He said that despite politicking by the PDP, he was able to register unprecedented development in all sectors which surpassed all the achievements of the previous governments in past 60 years. He said be it setting up of additional university campuses, opening up of degree colleges, setting up and upgrading schools, construction of hospitals or execution of drinking water and power supply schemes, there was record development registered, the results of which are visible on ground across the state. He said during this fiscal, a whopping sum of Rs. 1350 crore is being spent for road connectivity. Referring to execution of projects under double and triple shift system, the senior Congress leader said that this enabled in completion of several projects of high public importance within a fixed time frame. He said had his government been allowed to complete its full term, he would have completed scores of other projects in health, education, R&B, power, public health engineering and other critical sectors to facilitate the people. He said any slowing down of pace of work on ongoing projects would be squarely the responsibility of the PDP. Azad asked the people to strengthen Congress party at all levels and support it in ensuing assembly elections so that he could accomplish his development agenda and make Jammu and Kashmir as one of the most developed and prosperous state of the country. Senior Congress leader and former Minister Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed said that people of Jammu and Kashmir can never forget the contribution of Mr. Azad for development of the state.
