| BAJ appealed to Govt, Semi Govt employees to support agitation | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | July 27 Bar Association Jammu with a view to intensify the ongoing agitation has appealed to all the Govt, Semi Govt and autonomous bodies’ employees to go for mass casual leave to support the ongoing Jammu agitation. As per the earlier decision of Bar Association Jammu a peaceful procession led by its President Adv BS Salathia started from High Court Complex Janipur Jammu to Prade Ground to pay tributes to Martyr Kuldeep Kumar Dogra who scarified his life for the cause of Jammu. The procession comprising Vice-President CM Sharma, General Secretary Pawan Maini and other members of the BAJ including Rajesh Kotwal, Minu Koul, Abhinav Sharma, MP Singh alias Palli President Young Lawyers Association, Rajesh Thappa, JP Nanda, Ranjit Singh Jamwal, Rakeshwar Singh Durswal, Ashwani, Kumar, Rajinder Saproo, Amanjeet Chargotra, Vikas Sharma, Pawan Dev Singh, Rakesh Rattan and Baldev Singh. Another Group of Bar Association Jammu led by Sr. Adv SS Lehar comprising of Advocates Amrit Sareen, Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed, Ajay Sharma, DS Chouhan, Sukhvinder Singh, Adarsh Bhagat, Monish Chopra at about 3:00 PM set on Dharna in front of main Gate of Raj-Bhawan and were arrested by the police. General Secretary BAJ Adv Pawan Manni told JNF on telephone that the procession led by BAJ President reached near Tali-Morh, the processionists were not allowed to proceed further, a police party headed by SSP Jammu, the lawyers was arrested in presence of Deputy Commission Jammu on the pretext of violation of Curfew restrictions. All the lawyers were taken to DPL Gandhi Nagar and kept in confinement. According to him that the lawyers were offered to release from custody if they furnished the bail bond and personal bond but lawyers refused to release on the condition or bail. The arrested advocates held a meeting under the chairmanship of its president at Police Lines in which all the arrested advocates and the advocates who had gone to see them participated paid rich tribute to Kuldeep Kumar Dogra. Regarding the indiscrimination lathe-charge and tear gas shell, the BAJ took serious note of the approach adopted by the authorities for curving the on going peaceful agitation of Jammu people by imposing the unwarranted curfew and to create terror by resorting unprovoked Lathe Charge and tear gas shell on innocent people who assembled in Parade Ground Jammu to paid tribute to Jammu Martyr. BAJ decided to restrain from the Courts including High Court Jammu Wing and Subordinate Courts on July 28, 2008 in protest against the attitude adopted by the administration against the peaceful living people of Jammu. In the meanwhile all the Bar Associations of Jammu Province condemned the arrest of Bar members and the people of Jammu who were assembled in different places to pay tribute to the Martyr Kuldeep Kumar Dogra.
