| BJP pushes poll trolley, Jaitly given J&K charge | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | July 27 In the middle of a deep and raging anger in Jammu region, the Bhartiya Janta Party has fastened its belts to give shape to the election preparations. Following wide public anger and a dent to the image of Congress and National Conference in Jammu and its adjoining areas, the BJP is expecting bright electoral prospects. Therefore the party does not seen in any mood to waste time and has initiated its election process expecting the mass agitation translating into support to it. In first step in this direction, the party president Rajnath Singh has appointed BJP’s star campaigner general Secretary Arun Jaitly as incharge of Jammu and Kashmir elections. After his stints as the BJP election incharge in Gujarat and Karnataka saw it registering convincing wins, senior party leader Arun Jaitely has now been appointed the incharge for Jammu and Kashmir assembly polls, reports said. Jaitely, a General Secretary of the party, is also a Rajya Sabha member. In Gujarat elections, Chief Minister Narendra Modi returned to power after BJP won 117 seats out of the 182 seats while the Karnataka elections in May 2008 witnessed the party recording its first victory in a southern state by securing a safe 110 seats out of 224 seats. |
