PCC urge Governor to convene all party meet to diffuse present crisis
‘Ask administration to exercise restraint’

Urging the State Governor to convene an all party meet to discuss the prevailing situation and finding an amicable solution to the ongoing strike in Jammu region, senior Congress leaders impressed the need for finding an solution to the present unrest keeping in view the aspirations and interests of the general public.
Expressing their concern over the prolonged discontent resulting into atmosphere of hartals, violence and curfew in the region which besides causing great inconvenience and hardships to different sections of people, is adversely affecting the image of Jammu as a pilgrim destination, especially when Yatra to Shri Amarnath ji is going on, the senior Congress leaders strongly urge the Governor to invite an all party meet comprising leaders of different political parties and representatives of agitating organizations especially Sangarsh Samiti, Chamber of Commerce, traders, bar association, transporters and others associated with the agitation to find an amicable solution to the ongoing situation, keeping in view the aspirations and interests of the general public.
In a joint statement threes leaders have viewed that the prolonged agitation has been causing great set back to people dependent solely for their livelihood on the pilgrimage of Mata Vaishno Devi and Shri Amarnath like transporters, taxi and auto wallas, small traders, venders, rehriwals and ponywallas.
The PCC leaders have also asked the administration to exercise restraint while dealing with the situation and respect the civil rights of the common man and demanded that the erring officials should be punished sternly. These leaders have also appealed the people to maintain calm and peace in view of the glorious traditions of religious brotherhood and communal harmony for which Jammu has been a symbol all along.
The signatories to the statement include Dharampal Sharma, Mangat Ram, Madan Lal Sharma and Ch. Lal Singh both MPs, Amrit Malhotra, Hari Singh, Yash Paul Khajuria, Gurmukh Singh, Parduman Singh, Prem Sagar, R S Chib, Vinod Sharma, Ravinder Sharma, Kanta Bhan, Rani Billoria, Vinod Mishra, Hans Raj Bhagat, Rattan Chand, Ch. Shah Mohammed, Balwan Singh, Indu Pawar, Vogesh Sawhney, Raman Bhalla, Sham Lal, Shiv Dev Singh and Zaffar Ullah.
