Jammu | July 29

Condemning the role of JK Police in the present situation, SDP leader Dr. Darakhshan Indrabi has said that it was shocking and really condemnable that the law enforcing agency broke all laws, moral and ethical boundaries while dealing with the peaceful protest demonstrators.
Addressing party workers here today she said it was shameful on the part of police to desecrate the body of Kuldeep Kumar and without any justification infuriate the public sentiments by humiliating the body with liquor during the forced last rights made by the arrogant and dacoit-natured policemen on duty. She said, ‘uniform is a sacred thing for which I have great respect but if the people of ill character and mean nature wear it, I get infuriated personally. I want DGP to come out personally with a public apologize and I want CBI probe for all this that happened in Jammu’, she said and criticized the mainstream politicians of Kashmir for leading the state to such an unfortunate situation. When the situation is so volatile in the state, especially in Jammu division, these politicians of biased nature come out with infuriating and instigating statements just for their votes, she lamented. She appealed to the people to desist from being misused by politicians for their personal ends while registering their protest against police and the government. She said that J&K is one state and it belongs equally to people from all religious faiths and regions and hence we should not in any case allow the state to be divided on communal and regional lines as wished by all major political parties of both the regions of the state.
Dr Darakhshan expressed her surprise over the government inaction to resolve the stalemate and said “imposing curfew and resorting to lathi-charge is no solution at all. Instead government should initiate a dialogue with the peoples’ representatives to stop this chaos, he opined.
Meanwhile SDP State Youth Wing today took out a rally from Digiana to Satwari under the leadership of Youth leaders of SDP Ramesh Gupta and Ved Prakash. Over 400 activists of the party burnt the effigy of Mehbooba Mufti and raised slogans against the government, police and NC, PDP and the Congress.
